![]() ![]() I think hearing the laughter in their voices and the way they deliver the commentary would have make it so much better. ![]() I bet you good money that this book is 100x better in audiobook format. The final result was a mildly funny, sort of strange mash-up of everything they wanted the book to be but without ever really being successful. They are no Tina Fey or Mindy Kaling when it comes to comedy writing, that's for sure. I feel like the book couldn't decide if it wanted to be a parody, comedy book, or something more true to life. ![]() Take all of those things away and make them try to get that same dynamic on paper and it's. Trixie and Katya are hilarious just riffing off one another, and I think it's a combination of their quick wit, facial expressions, and sound effects that makes it so special. I religiously watch their YouTube show, UNHhhh (if you haven't watched it, you must), and I laugh throughout the whole thing. I'm a huge Drag Race fan, and I love my comedy queens, so of course I'm obsessed with Trixie and Katya. This pains me deep in my fan-girl heart to say, but Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood wasn't as funny or as clever as it wanted to be. ![]()
